This reduces the appearance of protruding ears by setting them back closer to the head. This procedure is usually done on children between the ages of 4 and 14. At the age of 4, the ears grow almost entirely, and this procedure is done to prevent teasing and ridicule. Otoplasty can be performed on adults as well, and there are no added risks with age.
